The half Naked Roller Blader REvisted

I am so excited. Spring is here now because I saw the half naked Rollerblader. I was so excited I had to call my mom and let her know it was official. This year he was only in tiny running shorts so maybe his is now 3/4 Naked Roller Blader. I started noticing the roller blader quite a few years ago and I have included a post I wrote back in 2005 about him. He just makes me smile.

There is a wonderful older man (mid 60's I'm guessing) that Rollerblades down the side of the my highway. I see him on my drive home from work and he is always smiling. It is great because every time I see I am glad he is having such a great time. He is quite the character because he doesn't wear much when he Rollerblades. He had got on a tiny pair of running shorts and a slip of a t shirt that is only the collar and maybe 4inch down and the sleeves are also cut off. He does wear all the appropriate safety gear. Which I think is funny because he has so much skinned exposed that the safety gear seems Irrelevant I have been driving by him and smiling for about five years now and he is always a great sign that spring has sprung. I bet he is very interesting and happy person. I'm can't stop smiling every time I see him. He is just having so much fun. I sure hope I get to see him for many more years to come

Funny Comic Strip Created by my 8 year old Son

I am so proud of my son and his creative talent. Just about a month ago he started created his own cartoon called Joe and Skratch. He has been coming up with all the ideas himself and then drawing all the comic strips. Sometimes he does a few at night and sometimes he does just one. Some of them are very funny to me and some of them are very funny to his 6 year old brother. I told him maybe I just don't get some of the kid jokes (i usually get an eye roll for this). I also don't usually laugh hysterically when someone says poop and both of my boys do. They have a great sense of humor.

We have since taken the time to edit and turn some of the comic strips into videos on Youtube so we can share them with everyone. He has gotten great feedback and is so happy when people comment on his videos. He narrates them all and it is really funny. This last one had great sound effects. I also thought it was really funny. I just really wanted to take the time to brag about him. As a parent its really cool to see your child push themselves to become better and more creative. So if you have the time please watch the video and leave a comment if you like it. Thanks so much

The Bean Chant that we Missed

My son and I found a contest where they were looking for a new "Bean Chant" that said it was a vegetable not a fruit. The prize was $5000. So we did up this little diddy and went to put it on and the contest and it had closed already. I know in his head he had bought a whole bunch more Pokemon cards with our winnings. He was pretty bummed we had missed so we agreed if we were going to enter another contest we would look up the rules first. Anyhow... I thought he did a great job and wanted to share. I hope it makes you smile

Matching Sweater Maddness

I confess, this year I bought my 6 and 8 year old matching sweaters. I have never done this before but I just couldn't resist when I found one of each of their sizes. I think children dressed up a like is adorable but my boys have never fallen into that category because they have very distinct different taste in clothes. In fact they both have had a strong opinion about what they want to wear since they were able to communicate. My youngest has always liked to dress like a skater or a grunge rocker. He does not own a sweater (until this Christmas). My oldest has a thing for collared shirts and he loves sweaters. He is very skinny and tall so he is always cold so the sweaters are just right. He always looks like he is ready to go get the family pictures done. He loved the new sweater I picked.
So when it came time to go visit the grandparnets I asked both boys to put on their sweaters. Mason didn't mind but when Cody had to put his on there was a bit of eye rolling and moaning going on. It was pretty funny. I made him a deal and said he only had to wear it long enough for me to take some pictures and then he could take it off. This picture is one of the cute ones I got. Cody asked his big brother to hop on for a piggy back ride. I think this will be the one and only set of pictures with matching sweaters but I LOVE IT. And.... Cody never did take his sweater off and wore it all day when we were visiting family untll bedtime. Perhaps there is a least one more matching sweater picture in my future

The Case of the Towering Hats

My son Cody was playing with my box of hats and decided to stack them. I was amazed at how high he got this tower of hats to go by himself. He just seemed to be adding more and more. This is the last shot before it tipped.

My Boys are on a Website

I was so excited when I found out my boys were pictured on a website and it wasn't my own. I entered some pictures for a "Cute Kid Contest" and my son Cody was picked. So his picture was in 10,000 publications of this booklet. Then the owner of the company called me and said she had put the picture of my two boys standing together on the website. How cool is that? My oldest Mason was on a poster for "Walk to School" campaign. I feel like a got a couple of little models on my hand. Then my son paints a picture around his belly button and says "look mom, it can talk" Then reality hits and I just smile. Life is wonderful and my boys are precious.

The Most EXCITING THING!

The most arousing thing my husband can say is

"I'll Take Care of That"

"Let me do the Dishes"
"I'll put the kids to bed"
"I love to clean the bathroom"

Underwear Man and his assistant Teddy Bear Underwear

Let me start with “kids do the darndest things”. My son was especially energetic tonight at bedtime and as I was listening to him giggle I hear him say “Underwear Man”. Which of course immediately caught my attention? I crept up to peek in the room and saw him standing at the bottom of his brothers bed, posed like a super hero with underwear on his head, underwear on each arm and actually wearing underwear (he refused to wear them any other time and mostly the underwear in the drawer is just for looks). He is 6 years old and just goes to prove that anything can make a superhero. He thought he was so funny. I told him to get to bed and leave his brother along. He asked if he could sleep in his costume and I said yes. Next thing you know he is hollering for me. I go in the room and he introduces me to his new assistant. Teddy Bear Underwear. Who is of course decked out in his own whitey tighties? I got a good laugh from that and now the superhero’s in underwear are fast asleep.

AmiCreatz.. What I Make

I was checking out Blogs and came across What I Make at Amicreatz. She features a variety of helpful information, new products and some of her wonderful creations. I really enjoyed her sense of humor and thought her Girlilicous design was pretty funny. She also has a lot of her design available on Cafepress so if you like her work it is easy to purchase.

Why Was the Chair There?

For some reason there is a plastic lawn chair hanging on our fence about 4ft off the ground
And to our surprise a mama bird decided it was a great location for her nest
Here are her babies

I believe this is her or maybe it was Dad. They were quite vocal in letting us know we shouldn't have found the nest.

The first thing I thought when we found the nest is "why was the chair there". I can only think it was hung there when we were weed eating the area and we needed it out of the way. Then I thought how come she decided to make the nest there. It is low to the ground and we play in that area all the time. It is quite the beautiful nest and I do suppose the chair seems quite sturdy compared to the trees. I haven't pointed it out to the boys because I don't want them to touch it but I am glad we found it because I totally would have just grabbed the chair and not think twice about whats in it. So, from now on I will always look in chairs hanging from strange places.

My son has turned into a Troll Doll!

Do you know those silly spiky balls made out of rubber? Well my son put one of his head and I took some pictures. Here is the result. He jumped at the camera when I was clicking and now he looks like a troll doll. He doesn't normally look like a troll doll. In fact he is quite cute but I just thought this was too funny.
