Teaching a Class is so much Fun

I love teaching crafts. I am not a trained teacher but I love to pass on knowledge to people and watch them excel at creating. A lot of people I know think that they can't make something and when I talk them into trying they are always so amazed at what they have created that it just makes me happy. I feel like I have shared a little of myself with them but showing how rewarding it is to create.
We have hosted a couple of card making classes and it is so much fun. We recently got contacted to go put one on and do a party at a friends house and I am so excited. I think it will be great to meet some new people and share my love of paper making crafts. I just really enjoy doing it and am going to try and pursue my love of teaching with others.

Penguin Holiday Card... Perhaps I will pick this one

Here is my newest painting turned into a card. I love all the fun colors so now I can't decide which one to use for my holiday card. The penguin or the snowman? Maybe I should paint another one with both the penguin and snowman. It is available in our shop http://www.gwynnsgifts.com/ and if you are interested in purchases a larger quantity for the holidays we would be happy to give you a discount.

She had a Glamorous Night of Fund Raising at the Museum

This young lady got all dressed up in her finest to help raise money for her favorite Museum. Champagne, smiles and a little flirting is how her evening went.

She looked especially wonderful with her rhinestone belt and tiara. The fabulous dress was complimented by the beautiful blue pearl and sterling silver earrings.

The is the newest in our handmade signature boutique series. Each lady has a custom designed gown we make that is complimented by recycled jewelry. She is then mounted on wallpaper and joined by a stunning pair of pearl, Swarovski crystal and sterling silver earrings. Each piece is one of a kind work of art.

This will soon be available in our shop at www.gwynnsgifts.com along with more beautiful earring and greeting cards. A card and gift all in one.

Green with Envy

This lady makes me proud. I am tickled pink with the way her outfit turned out. I love the addition of the feathers and the brooch I made with a feather and metal. I found this fabulous wallpaper background and I think it compliments the whole look. I was so happy to show her off to everyone. Every time I create a new card for our boutique signature series I think I get a little attached. I almost want to frame them and hang them on the wall to keep all for myself. I do make them to share and I hope someone is as excited to receive this and I am to make it. It feels like dressup everytime and who doesn't like dress up? I would love to hear your opinions on the whole card with earrings. Thanks

We love Dragonflies!

This card just caught my eye because of the stunning simplicity of black and white. Sometimes color is just not needed and this is a perfect example. I also check out anything that has a dragonfly on it because my mom loves them. This and other beautiful pieces can be found at www.ArtworkSW.etsy.com who is based out of Seattle and therefore almost a neighbor.

Let it Snow!

Today it decided to snow at my house for just a tiny bit and I got this shot of our Craft Cabin. I had so much fun playing with the picture that I turned it into Thank You Cards for all the wonderful people I get to thank. It couldn't have been more magical.

Stunning Stripes and Pearl Earrings

My newest Boutique Signature Series Card was so much fun to make. I just love it when and idea just keeps evolving into something better. This delightful lady looks wonderful in her striped skirt and textured shirt. Then I added a tiny chain for a belt and found this fabulous "broach" to compliment her outfit. I think the hat and purse finish the whole look. I then mounted her to this very textured wallpaper and put the whole thing on 5" x 7" greeting card. I made these earrings out of white and copper pearls and all sterling silver findings. You can find this at http://www.gwynnsgifts.com/

Burn Baby, Burn!

I tired a new technique today and I love the way it turned out. I got a wood burner for Christmas and I haven’t really used it much. Today I was getting some new images I really like to reproduce for greeting cards. The pictures are all old romantic pictures of couples so when I went to go put them together a light bulb popped on in my head that I should try out the wood burner on the paper to give it that aged look. Then I thought burning and paper might not be such a good idea so I grabbed a bottle of water and put it next to me before I started. Needless to say after a few attempts and some different angles I finally got the look I was going for and it is on this Romeo and Juliet card to the right. It gave the card wonderful texture, a new scent and a very authentic aged look.
