Today is my 35Th birthday and it couldn't have started out better.
I woke up to my boys and my mom singing me Happy Birthday with a yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Which is my all TIME favorite cake. Next I got the wonderful handmade cards and inside the cards was earrings that the boys had made with fimo beads they had created. I also got a beautiful book thong with a stunning handmade bead. I feel like the luckiest mom in the world. I am so proud of them for making me my presents and can't wait to find something to wear that matches.
I also think everyone should eat cake for breakfast at least once a month. It taste good, it looks good and it feels good going down. I took a piece right out of the middle of the cake because its my favorite piece and its my birthday. It is the only time that it is excusable for me to do that. Otherwise I just wait till everyone else has gotten a piece and by that time the middle is available. I had it with a nice hot cup of coffee. YUMMY!

Whimsical Trees with Continuous Flow
These beautiful continuous line painting can be found at http://www.hasullivan.etsy.com Each painting is drawn with one continuous line and then painted in greens and blues. I think it has a very calm, comforting feel to it. Heather has over 10 year experience in painting and has other eye catching works in her shop. This was just one of my particular favorites. You can learn all about her in her blog. http://www.hasullivan.blogspot.com/ . Please take the time to check out her shop and show her some love.

Inspiration Strikes

I was inspired to paint last weekend due to many different circumstances in my life and this is what happened. This is my first painting of this style and size. It is a 2ft x 4ft piece of wood and I love the way it turned out. It looks good in this direction or upside down or even sideways. I have hung it in my store and it looks great there..

I recently was in the mood to paint and I really wanted something that would make me smile. I took the big plunge and painted straight on canvas (which I never do). The picture took a life of its own and ended up so much better then what I had in my head. It is inpired by a painting my son did with crayola watercolors and a black pen so he was giving me instructions on his technique (you got to love directions for a 6 year old) and this is what happened. My picture is the one on the right and his is the one on the top. My orignal picture has much brighter and bolder colors then this scanned version. I just love it when something turns out well.
