The Brave Brothers My New Childrens Book

I was inspired last weekend to write and illustrate a children's book and it all came together like magic. I am very proud of myself and very happy I got the book in the mail this week. Its called "The Brave Brothers" and is inspired by my two sons. I loaded it up to Lulu.com and now it's out there for the world to see. It the story of two boys working together to fight the dish dragon and the toy truddle.

Do People Wear Brooches?

I love brooches. I don’t tend to wear them on my shirts but I love to add them to my hats or my jackets. I love plain ones, shiny ones, old ones, new ones, gold ones and silver ones. They just give that little extra pizzaz that is lacking some days. I have decided that it would be fun to add them to my greeting cards and I love the way it turned out. Here is one of the first ones I made.

I am so happy with the way this set turned out. I love the combination of browns and blues and the different layers of paper. The picture does not do it justice. It Smells so Gooooood!

This has been one of my smartest purchases on Etsy. These candles have smelled so good and my customers love them. I burn one everyday at my store and it seems to last forever. Mary and Anjani at http://www.lotussyfn.etsy.com/ packaged my purchase beautifully and it was like opening a Christmas present. Which of course I love presents even if I ordered them myself. It came superfast and I can't wait to order more.

Inspiration Strikes

I was inspired to paint last weekend due to many different circumstances in my life and this is what happened. This is my first painting of this style and size. It is a 2ft x 4ft piece of wood and I love the way it turned out. It looks good in this direction or upside down or even sideways. I have hung it in my store and it looks great there..

Old Desk to New Desk

I found a desk that looks just like this one at our local ReStore and I am so excited. I plan to repaint the entire metal bottom and do a collage on the top and then put a top layer of plexi-glass. I want to do one for each of my sons so they have a cool place to do their homework. I think it will only take me a few days. My biggest concern at this point is how to cut the plexi-glass so it fits just right. Any ideas on this would be wonderful.

I Bought a Consignment Store!

I just got a new store called "Instant Replays" in Bellingham, WA. It sells childrens and adult clothing on consignment. This is the logo I designed for it. I am so excited about the whole thing. I plan on featuring our jewelry and cards in the store and I hope to find some local art to put on display too.
