Original Painting with Acrylics Featuring Red and Black Flowers

I have recently decided to share my art with the world and have opened up a second shop on Etsy featuring my original paintings with acrylics, watercolors and pens.
I have no formal art training but I am learning as I go and have the most fun doing it.  I love to be inspired by my family, nature and other incredible artist.
I continue to learn by reading up on all topics of art that I get from my local library.  I also love to just use trial and error.  Recently I have started to use rubbing alcohol to created muted edges in my acrylic paintings.  I have also started making art videos with some of my pieces.  My art videos are little pieces of my life combined with the painting being created

Fifth on Sixth .. A connection between you and the artist

This incredible company located in Bellingham, Washington helps connect the artist with you the public.
My friend Marisa has a passion for all things artistic, from fine art to videography. She has taken that love and turned it into a business Fifth on Sixth. She represents many different artists in many different forms and helps you find the right person for your project. She also helps promote the work of her artist in local shows and galleries. Her heart is in everything she does and it shows.

A quote from her website http://www.fifthonsixth.com/

“fifthonsixth inc. not only helps artists, but art appreciators as well! We are the hub connecting businesses, galleries, and the public to a variety of graphic designers, fine artists, actors, videographers, illustrators and more”

Movie Moments Cuff would be a Fabulous Accessory!

Have you ever noticed that in old movies they express so much want and desire with just a facial expression? So much is implied in the eyes. I think that the actors in the old romantic comedies were so talented and so is Colette Penketh from http://www.starandthimble.etsy.com/. She created this awesome cuff with stills from romantic films. I think this piece would jazz up many different outfits and what a conversation starter it would be. It is made with hand printed leather and suede. She has lots of other wonderful things in her shop so please make sure you stop by and check out this talented artist.

Art Deco Darling Print

So many beautiful pictures can be found at www.matouenpeluche.etsy.com It is a shop full of beautiful women available as print, cards and original art. I love the simple lines and bold colors in all the pieces. This one in particular caught my eye because of the coy look she has. Another great find from another great artist on Etsy. The talent on Etsy never seems to amaze me.

Inspiration Strikes

I was inspired to paint last weekend due to many different circumstances in my life and this is what happened. This is my first painting of this style and size. It is a 2ft x 4ft piece of wood and I love the way it turned out. It looks good in this direction or upside down or even sideways. I have hung it in my store and it looks great there..
